Clemens

Mori Ivory 104" standard seat depth right arm chaise (dimensions no longer available). Mori is a performance fabric with a soft texture that is not scratchy and therefore not a big risk of getting scratched by pet cats. I tested the ivory swatch before receiving the sofa using berries, olive oil, marinara sauce, and kimchi. While all the stains can be removed fairly well using soap and water or the recommended stain remover, I still cover the seats in old linen sheets so that I can easily pull them off and throw them in the wash. If I had kids I would not really recommend white. The Mori charcoal was too dark for my home but that color can hide just about any stain and would be family friendly. I live in an apartment where a 104" length sofa is the max I can do. So I can't vouch for the longer, deeper sofa for apartments. But Iove the model I have, the seat depth is perfect for me (I am petite).

We purchased the Clemens 104" sofa with the side chaise, in Tepic Paprika. It's fabulous — comfortable, seems very durable, and looks GREAT. We really like that the chaise has a long back down the side. The fabric is nice — comfortable though not immensely soft, and seems quite durable. We were surprised that the chaise and the main sofa do not attach together in any way, but in the end they are heavy enough that they really don't move and so it has proven to be a non-issue. Delivery was smooth (as it always is from Room and Board). Took about 2.5 months from order to delivery, which in this day and age and for custom furniture of this quality is great. Not cheap, but we thought the price was very fair for what we got. #sweepstakes

We researched buying a couch for ages and finally settled on the Clemens deep at 125" in Flint Cement fabric. It ticks all the boxes in terms of quality and aesthetic. I think it's one of more interesting shapes available at Room and Board. In the space it feels low and inviting. I'm 6"2 and it feels wonderful to have a couch where I can actually fold my legs underneath myself without them hanging off the couch. I was worried about the cushions having gaps between them (based on other reviews) but I can report there is nothing wrong with this couch from that standpoint based on my experience. I am happy it's down-free without losing any of the comfort. The overstuffed cushions look and feel like they will last for years and years to come. Don't worry about it not having clips to attach the chaise to the rest of the couch. It's so substantial, it won't move around in a typical environment and the legs are built with removable caps that expose a rubber underside to help it prevent from shifting. All the cushions stay in place without slipping, but are also removable, and have zippered covers so they can be washed. It's a very chic sofa that's sure to give us years of comfort. Two things to keep in mind in terms of aesthetic: 1: The chaise does have a large seam down the middle of it, but it doesn't take away from the overall look. 2: It can look a little lumpy after use, but for the most part bounces back to its original shape without too much fuss. I don't mind it as part of the lived-in, laid back look. 10/10, would buy again.

The Clemens sofa hasn't held up the way my other Room and Board sofas did. The Jasper still looked new after 2 years, but the Clemens has puckered fabric, misshapen cushions, and looks shabby. Worse than that, it has become really uncomfortable because the back cushions flatten almost immediately after fluffing and I also fall into the cracks between the seat cushions. R&B makes good sofas, but I can't recommend this one.

The couch was amazing from the get go. California vibes , Soft&Comfy , you sink right in and feel at home instantly.

Great couch, perfectly sized. The only issue we've had with it so far is that there are large gaps in between cushions, and the cushions tend to slide "out" of the couch a lot. Meaning we have to push them in every time we get up. Hopefully these issues will go away over time.
