Palm

One star only because it's incredibly attractive. But it doesn't stand up. Within a year, the fabric started getting shiny. Within 3 years, it was so patchy that it didn't even look like the original fabric as seen on the back sides of the cushions. Within 4 years the whole frame started to sag and holes developed in the cushions. Only used 3 months a year and kept under their custom covers the rest of the year. R&B CS was very blame-y and took literally months to get a response. So much for their satisfaction guarantee. If you're considering this for outside ... reconsider. Likely only good in a fully enclosed porch or lanai.

We had the chance to visit the Room and Board store while on vacation in Boston - our intent was to only try a couch for our family room. We did! But we also tried the Palm and realized it was the perfect sofa for our covered patio. It truly is the most comfortable seating we now own and has really elevated our outdoor space. The color is a perfect medium navy and the fabric has held up to our cats' "I'm just going to stretch and maybe scratch while I do so" moves. Since our patio is covered and screened in, we don't have to worry about the elements; however, I have no doubt this would stand up to rain and snow. Definitely recommend!

While it looks fantastic, I've become pedantic about cleaning it. Even morning dew stains it...that's right-- natural water! Not to mention anything the wind blows in, and the gardeners. I was tempted to try a darker color, or to return it, but the experts said all colors stain just the same. I check it every few days, I have to brush it off with a clean brush, and then buff it out with a shoe buffer, and use an eraser (all the tips the Room and Board furniture expert showed me to do). This is a wonderful set, but definitely not low maintenance.
